Located in the heart of the world, the breath-taking Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, Colombia, we witness first-hand the challenges that grassroots farmers face: depleted lands, unpredictable climate conditions, and limited access to resources. We believe that these challenges can be transformed into opportunities for growth, sustainability, and resilience. The Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta, known as "The Heart of the World," is a breathtaking coastal mountain range in northern Colombia, renowned for its towering peaks and exceptional biodiversity a Mountain Galapagos. Home to unique ecosystems and countless endemic species, this region is a vital ecological treasure. It is also a cultural haven, inhabited by indigenous groups like the Kogi, Wiwa, Kankuamo and Arhuaco, who serve as stewards of the land with their deep-rooted spiritual and environmental wisdom. Despite its significance, the Sierra Nevada faces pressing threats such as deforestation, climate change, and illegal mining, which jeopardize its delicate balance.
